The on-board mail stamp "an Bord" is the rarest and most sought-after category in Zeppelin philately: mail was sorted and stamped directly on board the airship by a dedicated postal official flying with it – a unique document in aviation history. The year 1928 is historically particularly significant: It was the first year of the LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin", which began its maiden voyage on September 18, 1928, and became the most famous airship in the world in the following years. On-board mail stamps from the first year 1928 are among the absolute rarities in Zeppelin philately and fetch the highest prices at international auctions. Also available: Zeppelin stamp mail drop Görlitz 1930 (Item No. 33.207), Vienna 1931 (Item No. 33.206), CORREOS URUGUAY 1930 (Item No. 32.474), Asunción Paraguay 1936 (Item No. 33.208), and Deutsche Seepost Hamburg–Westafrika 1896 (Item No. 33.209).
