Warsaw Shield – Sleeve Shield, Manufactured by Rudolf Souval Vienna 1960s

Item number: 34.140

The Warsaw Shield was a planned combat badge of the German Wehrmacht in the form of a sleeve shield from the World War II era – however, it was never officially awarded, as the capitulation in 1945 prevented its presentation. Thus, it belongs to the most fascinating "unrealized" Wehrmacht awards and is particularly sought after by specialist collectors. This example is a 1960s production from the renowned house of Rudolf Souval / Vienna – one of the most important Austrian medal manufacturers, whose post-war productions now hold collector's value themselves.
