Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross 1939 with Swords, with presentation case. Version: White metal cast with non-ferrous metal ribbon ring, on a sewn neck ribbon with drawstrings. Case: approx. 15 × 8 cm, non-magnetic. Early collector's reproduction / museum reproduction – the neck ribbon could still be original.

The War Merit Cross was instituted on October 18, 1939, by Adolf Hitler. The Knight's Cross with Swords was awarded for outstanding merits with decisive effects on warfare – Hitler personally reserved the right to award it.
