Historical Background

The Front Flying Clasp for Fighters was one of the most prestigious awards of the German Luftwaffe in World War II. It was awarded to fighter pilots who had completed a specified number of enemy flights. The silver grade required a higher number of missions than the bronze grade and is correspondingly rarer. The execution in non-ferrous metal (die-cast zinc with brass content) is typical for quality wartime productions and particularly valued by collectors. The preserved original case significantly increases the collector's value, as cases were often lost.
