Historical Background

So-called canteen rings were often made or acquired by soldiers and police officers in troop canteens or from field craftsmen during World War II. They are not official issue items, but rather individual wearable objects with military and state motifs. The assignment to the Army and Police results from the motif, which was used in both organizations. Such rings are highly sought after by collectors of military curiosa due to their small numbers and personal character.
