The Frankfurt Automobile Exhibition 1904 took place at a time when the automobile was still a sensation – just a few years after the pioneering achievements of Benz, Daimler, and Maybach. Large exhibitions of this kind in the German Imperial Era received their own special exhibition postmarks, which were used to frank mail posted there – a coveted document for philatelists and automotive historians alike. Special postmarks from automobile exhibitions of the Imperial Era are extremely rare on the collector's market – they combine two of the most vibrant collecting areas: thematic philately and early automotive history / classic cars. This precise unique item, based on an original template, offers a unique addition for philately, automotive, and Imperial Era collectors. Also available: German Seapost Hamburg–West Africa 1896 (Art. No. 33.209), Colonial Post Kiautschou 1901 (Art. No. 32.472) and Zeppelin Stamp Series (Art. No. 32.474, 33.206–33.210).
