About the Zeppelin flight to Geneva and Swiss Philately

In 1930, Geneva was not only the most important international diplomatic city in Europe – as the seat of the League of Nations – but also a popular destination for the LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin." Switzerland, as a neutral country with its own postal system and stamps, issued special Zeppelin postmarks for mail carried on board. Swiss Zeppelin postmarks are particularly sought after by Swiss, German, and Austrian philatelists – the combination of Genevan neutrality, League of Nations atmosphere, and Zeppelin romance makes these covers unique. Also available: Zeppelin Arctic Flight 1931 (Item No. 33.216), LUPOSTA Danzig 1932 (Item No. 33.212), "on board" mail 1928 (Item No. 33.210), Vienna 1931 (Item No. 33.206) and the entire Zeppelin postmark series in our assortment.
