About this Award

The Luftwaffe Pilot's Badge (also "Pilot's Badge") was one of the most prestigious awards of the Luftwaffe and was awarded to trained pilots. It shows a stylized eagle with spread wings over an oak leaf wreath – one of the most distinctive and sought-after Luftwaffe badges ever. The cloth version for enlisted personnel with swastika is a rarer design compared to the more familiar metal version and was sewn directly onto the uniform. Luftwaffe pilot's badges in cloth design are among the absolute highlights of any Luftwaffe collection.
