Offered is an original Wehrmacht paratrooper badge, with a manufacturer's mark on the reverse and in the high-quality riveted version with a separately applied eagle. The piece comes from an old, documented dealer's inventory and is in good condition for its age.
The Paratrooper Badge was introduced on November 5, 1936, and awarded to members of the Wehrmacht's parachute troops who had completed at least six combat jumps or one combat jump under enemy fire. It is one of the most sought-after and valuable combat badges of World War II and is highly coveted on the international collector's market. The riveted version – in which the eagle was manufactured separately and riveted onto the oak leaf wreath – is considered a characteristic of particularly high-quality productions and is significantly rarer than one-piece versions. The manufacturer's mark on the reverse is an important authenticity feature and allows for precise attribution to the producer.
