Rolf Mützelburg was a recipient of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and was one of the most successful U-boat commanders in the Kriegsmarine. As commander of U-203, he achieved considerable sinking successes in the Atlantic before he died in a bathing accident in September 1942.
