Rare original photo card (AK) of one of the most important Knight's Cross recipients of the German U-boat navy: Kapitän zur See Wolfgang Lüth (* October 15, 1913, Riga; † May 12, 1945, Flensburg-Mürwik) – an authentic contemporary document from World War II.
Wolfgang Lüth was one of the most successful U-boat commanders of the entire war and a recipient of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds – the highest award, which only 27 soldiers received. As commander of several U-boats, he sank over 200,000 BRT and, alongside Kretschmer, was one of the absolute top aces of the Kriegsmarine. This photo card is an extraordinarily sought-after collector's item.
