The Army Paratrooper Badge was instituted on September 1, 1937, by the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Generaloberst Freiherr von Fritsch, and awarded to members of the Army paratroopers. This example bears the manufacturer's mark A.G.M.u.K. Gablonz (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Metalle und Kunststoffe, Gablonz an der Neiße) – one of the most renowned and high-quality manufacturers of orders and badges in the Third Reich. The eagle is riveted – a feature that collectors particularly look for as an indicator of authenticity and quality.
