About this Cockade

The cockade in black-white-red was the characteristic cap badge of the German Empire (1871–1918) and the Reichswehr (1919–1935) – the armed forces of the Weimar Republic. Black-white-red were the national colors of the German Reich, which were retained by the Reichswehr after 1918 until the Wehrmacht was founded and new insignia were introduced in 1935.
