The SS Long Service Award was a service and loyalty decoration for all members of the Schutzstaffel (SS) and was established on January 30, 1938 by decree of Adolf Hitler. This specimen is the 2nd Class for 12 years of service.

Description of the Award:

• Upper cross arm (towards center): FÜR SS (FOR SS)
• Horizontal cross arm: TREUE – DIENSTE – IN – DER SS (LOYAL – SERVICE – IN – THE SS)
• Lower cross arm (towards center): Two victory runes (SS runes)

Ribbon: Blue, 50 mm wide, with SS runes embroidered in silver.
