The Lützow Free Corps was one of the most famous and romantic volunteer units in German history – founded in 1813 by Major Adolf von Lützow in the fight against the Napoleonic occupation. The corps wore the colors black, red, and gold – the later German national colors – and became a symbol of the German struggle for freedom. The poet Theodor Körner served in this corps and wrote his famous freedom poems there ("Lyre and Sword"). Commemorative orders and badges of the Freikorps Lützow are among the most historically significant and rarest German collectibles – they combine the Napoleonic era, Prussian history, and the emergence of the German national movement in one piece. Also available: Steel helmet Scharnhorst-Jungmännerbund (Item no. 31.005) and Freikorps Wehrwolf Halle (Item no. 32.926).
