The Air Protection Honor Badge was instituted by Adolf Hitler on January 30, 1938, by decree – on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Day of National Uprising – in two classes. It served as an acknowledgment for special services to air protection and air defense and could be awarded to all persons who had proven themselves in these areas. This example is worn on a ribbon and comes from old dealer stock.
