About this piece

The lightning rune was the central symbol of the Deutsches Jungvolk (DJ) – the youth organization for 10 to 14-year-old boys as a preliminary stage to the Hitler Youth. Metal badges with the lightning rune on a pin were worn as uniform and everyday badges and are rare on the collector's market.
