Rare Original of the Tank Destruction Badge with Ribbon in the coveted 1st Edition, manufactured by Moriz Hausch, Pforzheim – one of the most renowned German manufacturers of military awards. Good condition for its age, with signs of wear. From old dealer stock.
The Tank Destruction Badge (instituted March 9, 1942) is one of the rarest and most highly regarded bravery awards of World War II. It was awarded to infantrymen and panzergrenadiers who had destroyed an enemy tank in close combat alone and without the support of their own tanks or anti-tank weapons – an extraordinary individual achievement that only a few soldiers accomplished.
The 1st Edition is the earliest and rarest production variant – manufactured by Moriz Hausch in Pforzheim, the German "Gold City" and center of the German jewelry and medal industry. Hausch products are among the highest quality and most sought-after manufacturer variants on the international collector's market. A documented original of the 1st Edition with proof of manufacturer is an absolute highlight for every medal and award collector. Also available: Tank Destruction Badge with Ribbon as a collector's replica (Item No. 32.976) and German Cross in Gold Original (Item No. 34.117).
