About this piece

In the immediate post-war period and the early GDR era, Wehrmacht and RAD uniform parts were frequently reused by the Kasernierte Volkspolizei (KVP, 1952–1956) and the GST – often re-dyed or slightly modified. Uniform jackets with this transitional provenance (Wehrmacht/RAD → KVP/NVA) are particularly rare on the collector's market and historically very interesting, as they document the continuity of military equipment beyond the end of the war. Please examine scans for exact attribution.
